the MIA foodie in.. PANAMA

Happy Friday foodies

A few weeks ago I traveled to see my family in Panama, and naturally, I took full advantage of the short trip and knocked out as many food spots as I possibly could. I literally spent all 3 days of my trip eating (not complaining) and I'm excited to show you guys some of my favorite spots as well as some random pictures around the city!

Crazy Crispy Color ice rolls from Ay Mi Negra

Betania, Panama City

 Homemade breakfast
Tortillas de maiz, chorizo, and queso de mano. I swear I was craving this before my trip and I ate it pretty much everyday I was there! *drools* My aunt said I am my mothers daughter- she use to love eating this exact breakfast lol.

Crispy Chicken Sandwhich from Roadsters Diner

Buffalo Chicken Sandwhich

Outside of a Super 99 in Panama City

Crazy Crispy Color rolled ice cream from Ay Mi Negra
made with fruity pebbles and condensed milk and topped with strawberries, more fruity pebbles and a condensed milk drizzle. It was so delicious!

One of the most photographed walls in Casco Viejo

Tacos La Neta located in Casco Viejo

Bistec güey (steak) with avocado, cilantro and white onions - mariachi chorrillo (fried corvina) with tomato, cabbage, cilantro and lime - chorizo queso (sausage and cheese) with queso fundido, chorizo criollo, pickled onions and cilantro - they were all so flavorful, but my favorite was the steak!

Maracuya (passion fruit) con Leche condensada (condensed milk) paleta from La Michoacana

Decor inside Diablicos, located in Casco Viejo

Ceviche de Corvina in a coconut! (Diablicos)
Tropical white fish marinated in fresh lemon juice and chopped onions. Served with patacones (fried plantain baskets)

 Langostino jumbo (Diablicos)
Fresh jumbo shrimps in a passion fruit sauce, served with plantain chips over a garlic yuca puree.
This dish was definitely my favorite from this trip. So much flavor and the yuca puree tasted AMAZING! I was so full and refused to stop eating lol, I just couldn't let it go to waste.

Streets of Casco Viejo, Panama

And last but not least, Raspado. Shaved ice in Strawberry and Passion fruit flavor, both with a condensed milk drizzle. A must every time I visit Panama!
